余华长篇小说《兄弟》语言的先锋性主要集中体现在准确而新奇的明喻之中。研究发现,《兄弟》中的明喻主要采取了保留本体和喻体、省译明喻和增译明喻这三种翻译方法,并产生了相应的审美效果:保留明喻的本体和喻体,就保留了原文中本体和喻体之间的认知距离,达到了类似的审美效果;省译明喻是通过一种阐释性译法,将明喻的内涵明晰化,缩短了文本和读者之间的距离;增译明喻会拉大文本和读者之间的距离,强化和主题相关的意象。

The avant-garde language in Yu Hua's novel Brothers is mainly embodied in its accurate and novel similes. It is found that the translation of the similes in Brothers mainly involves three methods: retaining the tenor and its vehicle, omitting the translation of the similes and adding words in the translation of similes, which produces the corresponding aesthetic effect. By retaining the tenor and its vehicle, it can preserve the cognitive distance between the tenor and its vehicle in the original text and achieve a similar aesthetic effect. By omitting the translation of the similes, it can make the connotation of similes clear and shorten the distance between the text and the reader through an interpretive translation method. While by adding words in the translation of similes, it can widen the distance between the text and the reader and strengthens the images related to the subject.
